Wishlist

This is a list of things I’ve seen and would like to own. It is not a call to action for the benevolent masses out there to show me luv, not even the kind of love you have to spell with a u.

The grand potentates of Web etiquette stand firm that having a wishlist on your blog is tacky and I do not disagree. It’s never appropriate to whore for presents, be it in the form of a last-of-its-kind Beidermeier side chair or a 6-pack of Bonne Bell shimmering candy-flavored lip gloss.

No one can seriously be expected to fork out a non-tax deductible donation to help you complete your menagerie of vintage My Little Ponies, not even online strangers with whom you generously share your wit, wisdom and peerless knack for converting ordinary punctuation into the very picture of emotional depth. Likewise, it is not the responsibility of the online populace to clothe your children, winterize your house or pimp your ride–not even if you have an animated .gif claiming otherwise.

With that disclosure in mind, I knowingly have a wishlist. Sue me. It was either this or adding in one of those little pixel dolls displaying the weather conditions and five day forecast for my city and state.

I want:

This book on ornate fruit carving and garnishes. It’s only in Thai so I guess I also need the corresponding Rosetta Stone software.
